The Ehsaas Aghosh Program, an initiative by the government of Pakistan, is dedicated to supporting pregnant women, ensuring a healthy start for both mothers and infants. The program extends financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women, prioritizing their well-being through various stages. Registration Procedure:

Pregnant and lactating women can enroll in the Aghosh program at any stage of their pregnancy. To register, visit the nearest health center with your national identity card and provide the necessary details. Upon receiving a registration confirmation SMS, proceed to HBL Konnect to activate your account through biometric authentication.

Financial Assistance Details:

The program offers phased financial assistance to pregnant women, including Rs. 1000 for each of the four free medical check-ups at health centers, Rs. 3000 post-safe maternity care, and Rs. 2000 on obtaining the birth certificate from the Union Council. Additionally, breastfeeding mothers receive Rs. 1000 for phased (8 times) medical examinations and vaccinations for children up to 2 years of age.

Withdrawal Process:

Funds can be withdrawn only from HBL Konnect centers. Pre-registered pregnant or lactating women must visit HBL Konnect with their registered number and mobile for biometric verification. Upon receiving the pin code on the registered mobile, the financial assistance will be disbursed.

Salient Features:

  1. Healthcare Services: The program ensures free medicines and safe maternity care at designated health centers.
  2. Unified Beneficiary Data: Family records benefiting from the program are maintained in the Unified Beneficiary Data.
  3. Social Networking and Awareness: Aghosh organizes awareness sessions and meetings at the village and union council levels through social mobilizers and lady health workers.

Program Background:

Initiated by the Punjab government under the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project, the Aghosh program has proven successful, particularly in 11 selected districts of South Punjab. Aimed at benefiting 564,000 households, the program strives to provide financial assistance of up to Rs. 17,000 to pregnant and lactating women. The goal is to ensure that individuals in villages and towns are not deprived of their fundamental right to good health.
